TRUE CONFESSIONS OF A BARBER

Updated: Dec 18, 2023

Welcome everyone. This is the first blog on the website 2nd overall. So I was asked this question by a Barber. Why do you give classes on how to prepare and tips for competitions and people be competing in competitions against you?

Answer: When I started doing these classes with The Firm in 2015 we did it to bring awareness to the competitions. You'd be surprised how many rumors were circulating. The competitions are rigged because the same barbers always either place or win. So we did classes to show how to place. How to prepare. How to select models. How to read the rules. How to select categories that fit your strength. Time management. So to answer this question I have no fear of any competitor I compete against myself. I want and make sure that at my show and shows i'm affiliated with that the competitors know what they are being judged on before they compete so that its no surprises. Although no matter how many times you lead a horse to the water you cant make him/her drink it. Its sad that still many barbers don't do these things and that's why the same DEDICATED, SERIOUS Barbers are the ones that place and win a lot.
